A forest thinning project is expected to last through Wednesday around the Keyhole Sink Trail, west of Parks off Old Route 66 in the Kaibab National Forest. The Oak Hill Snow Play Area parking lot will be closed for public safety during the project, because it is expected to be used as a staging area. Heavy equipment will be felling trees and hauling material near the trail on both sides. The area is expected to reopen Thursday. Forest officials say there will be several thinning projects over the coming months around Williams and Parks, so expect some closures when necessary.
