The Monsoon’s are not letting up anytime soon. That means people may either need sandbags, or need more sandbags to enhance mitigation around their homes in flood zones. On the Schultz-Pipeline burn area, there are sand bag locations off Copeland Lane and Highway 89 and Copeland and Butterfly. There are also two filling stations on Brandis Way and one in Wupatki Trails. There is a sandbag location off Highway 89 and Campbell Avenue as well. In Doney Park, there are three sandbag areas at Cromer School and one just east of Cromer. There are also two at Stardust and Mercury and Stardust and McGee. On the westside of the Pipeline Fire, there are two self-fill sandbag locations. One is at Francis Short Pond Residents and the other is near Schultz Pass Road and Elden Lookout Road. For those whose homes are identified for flood mitigation and who are elderly or disabled and cannot secure assistance through family or friends should contact the Call Center at (928) 679-8525 and request assistance. Also volunteers are needed daily. If you would like to volunteer, log onto the United Way of Northern Arizona’s Volunteer hub, at uwna.volunteerhub.com.
