The NAU Lumberjacks women’s basketball team will play for the Big Sky Conference Tournament Championship Friday after beating the Northern Colorado Bears, 72-67, in the tournament semifinals in Boise, Idaho. Khiarica Rasheed led the Jacks with 16 points and Regan Schenck had a double double with 12 points and ten assists in the win. Scheck also set a new record for the most assists in a single-season in NAU history. Miki Maio chipped in with 12 as they Jacks will play in their first conference tournament title game since 2007. NAU shot 50-percent from the floor and 43-percent from three-point range. The Bears were held to 35-percent from the floor. The Jacks will play the second-seeded Montana State Bobcats for the championship and a trip to the NCAA Women’s College Basketball Tournament, Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. We’ll have the game and the pregame show at 12:30 p.m. on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 in Flagstaff and Fun Oldies 97.9 in Prescott.
