The Flagstaff Eagles Girls Basketball Team Will Host Poston Butte In The 4A First Round Wednesday Night

The 4A state basketball playoffs begin Tuesday and Wednesday and the road to the Madhouse on McDowell begins. The playoff brackets were released Saturday morning. On the girl’s side the Flagstaff Eagles are the number-five seed and they will host the number-12 Poston Butte Broncos Wednesday night. The Broncos are coached by former Flagstaff Eagle Savannah Bix, who played for current Eagle coach Tyrone Johnson. The Broncos were 13-5 overall and swept the 4A Black Canyon Region with a 10-0 record. They won their first-ever post-season game Friday night with a 55-47 win over Sahuarita. The Broncos are led by junior Adriana Bachman, who averages about 14 points a game. The Eagles went 16-2 this season with losses to Seton Catholic and Deer Valley. The Eagles also swept their region, going 12-0 in the Grand Canyon Region. We will have the game on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 starting with the pregame show at 6:45 Wednesday night.
