The Flagstaff City Council held a work session yesterday at City Hall. On the agenda was discussion and direction for allocation of over $13-million dollars in American Rescue Plan Act Local Recovery Funding money that the city will receive. The money will be spread among several categories, however members agreed to give $1.9-million to a range of housing solutions and a significant amount to social service providers. Funding money will also go to support for an alternate care facility and services, local non-profits, small businesses impacted by the pandemic as well as money for city services, revenue loss and other city needs. There is no word on when the U.S. Treasury Department will release the funds to the city, however the city now has a plan for money allocation when that happens.
