The Flagstaff City Council Dove Into Non-COVID Related Issues At Tuesday’s Work Session

The Flagstaff City Council touched on a few topics, other than COVID-19, at Tuesday’s council work session. Council heard an update from NAIPTA, which runs the city’s transit system, on future plans for the Downtown Connection Center. The proposed update includes a reduction in parking to allow room for more busses. The council recommended that a civic space, that was part of the proposed design, be removed to create more parking, with the option to reassess and make it a civic space at a later date. In addition, the council heard an update on the regional plan for 2045, where public commenters and council members encouraged improved public outreach tactics. They also received an economic development update that discussed the impact of several businesses including: Katalyst Space Technology, CozyHome Energy Efficiency and Comfort Specialists, as well as Bee Well Hand Sanitizer.
