The body of a Pinion woman, who has been missing since 2019, has been found. Authorities say 34-year-old Jamie Lynette Yazzie was working as a nursing assistant and was last seen near Pinon on June 30th, 2019 and hadn’t been seen since. She also went by Jamie Montoya. On Tuesday, Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Navajo officials said in a statement that Jamie’s family was recently informed that she had been located and was deceased. The FBI still has a five-thousand dollar reward in effect for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for her death. Special Agent in Charge Sean Kaul said last year “we hope this reward will encourage anyone with information to come forward and do the right thing. We are committed to bring justice to Jamie Yazzie, her family, friends and the entire Pinon community.” Anyone with information about her disappearance and or death, call the FBI at (623) 466-1999 or the Chinle Police Department at (928) 674-2111.
