Susan Brown has been named as the new deputy county manager for Coconino County. The county made the announcement Friday. Brown joined the county in 1998 in the Facilities Management Department as property manager during the county’s capital facilities construction program from 1996-through-2004. Her role evolved into strategic planning for the organization and in 2009, she stepped into the role of Facilities Management Director, where she has been for the last 12 years. County Manager Steve Peru says “I have had the pleasure of knowing Sue for 33 years. In that time, I’ve understood her to be savvy, caring, dynamic and tenacious.” Brown takes over the role as deputy county manager from Joanne Keene, who left the county earlier this year to become the new deputy city manager in Sedona. Brown will transition into the role.
