ADOT is adjusting its work at the Sunset Point Rest Area to keep it open to travelers through Labor Day. Sunset Point Rest Area is located ten miles south of Cordes Junction. Work got underway Monday, but ADOT says the project team has phased the work to not impact the public during the summer season. However, it will close to non-commercial traffic after the Labor Day Weekend. Crews will upgrade the facility’s water and septic systems, ramadas, restrooms, and vending buildings, which will cost seven-and-a-half-million dollars.
