A residential burn pile got out of control Saturday in Paulden and turned into a wildfire. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. The initial report stated a burn pile got out of control and grew to two acres. Thanks to the quick action of nearby neighbors, who used hand tools and a tractor, as well as the swift response from fire personnel, the fire was quickly contained. The fire grew to about five acres, but fortunately no structures were damaged and only a small number of tools and equipment on an adjacent property were affected. Deputies later discovered that this was one of several fires originated from the same property/homeowner over the past few years and proceeded to educate and cite them for their actions. No one was hurt.
