A small plane crashed on Highway 89A in west Sedona Sunday. Police say the plane took off from Sedona Airport around 10:30 a.m. and began to have engine problems soon after takeoff. The plane came down, touched down on the highway, then went back up, before landing on the highway again and coming to a stop near the Hampton Inn near Mountain Shadows Drive. Sedona Fire Marshal Jon Davis says “the pilot did a remarkable job of flying and landing the plane without hitting any vehicles or people on the ground.” There were no injuries.
