It was a busy day for the Sedona Fire District Wednesday afternoon. Crews were called out to a rescue call that ended up being two. Fire crews were called to AB Young Trail in Oak Creek Canyon for an injured hiker. After arriving on the scene, rescuers located the injured hiker in very rugged terrain. A DPS helicopter was called in and rescued the patient from the area. During that rescue, another hiker that was in the injured hikers party began making their way down the trail. During the decent, that hiker suffered a 20-foot fall. Due to the location and when it happened, the second hiker was quickly attended to and assisted down the trail. Both injured hikers were taken to Sedona Emergency Center for treatment.
