Schultz Creek Drainage Improvements At Highway 180 To Start Next Week

Construction will begin next week on the Schultz Creek Drainage improvements at Highway 180. The City of Flagstaff says the project will include the installation of a new concrete box culvert under the highway, which is expected to be completed by July 1st. This will help mitigate flooding before this year’s Monsoon season. Final project activities, such as repaving the highway and re-establishing nearby landscaping, will be finished by August 1st. Traffic control operations will be setup on Highway 180 between West Stevanna Way and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at the earliest on April 1st and remain until August 1st. Both lanes will remain open with speeds reduced to 25 miles-per-hour around the construction zone. Construction activities will take place from Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., though these hours may change throughout the duration of the project.
