Areas of Rimrock were flooded Thursday night after Beaver Creek experienced heavy flooding. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say many of the homes along the creek’s edge, as well as other low-lying areas, quickly filled with several feet of water. Deputies arrived to an area at around 9:30 p.m. and immediately went into evacuation mode. Several deputies and firefighters walked in waist deep flowing water and carried elderly, children and pets to safety. Four people and two dogs had to be rescued from a van that ended up disabled in several feet of water. A shelter was set up at Beaver Creek Baptist Church. The evacuation order was lifted at around 4 a.m. after water receded along the creek.
