There was a shooting at a high school in Knoxville, Tennessee Monday that has reportedly left a teenage boy dead and a police officer injured. Officers were called to the school at around 3:15 p.m. after police responded to a report of an armed student holed up in a school bathroom at Austin-East Magnet High School. Officers entered the bathroom and the student opened fire, hitting an officer. Police returned fire and killed the teenage boy. The officer is being treated at UT Medical Center and is alert and responsive and is expected to be okay. Police officers were reportedly shielding paramedics while they were attending to victims. This is the third shooting in the area since January.
