A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the northern portion of the Navajo Nation in Arizona, including the Grand Canyon for Thursday. The National Weather Service says the warning will be in effect from noon until 7 p.m. Navajo Nation time. Areas in the warning include: Chinle, Kayenta, Fredonia, Page, Shonto and the Grand Canyon. Winds are forecast to be 15-to-25 miles-per-hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour at times. Expect strong winds, low humidities and higher temperatures, which is the perfect mix for a wildfire grow if started. If you are traveling in that area tomorrow, don’t toss cigarettes out of the window and if you are pulling a trailer, make sure chains are up off the road.
