Red Flag Warning Issued For Northern Arizona For Wednesday

A Red Flag Warning will be in effect for most of Northern Arizona today for a third straight day. Cities and towns under the Red Flag Warning are: The Greater Flagstaff Area, Williams, Prescott, Prescott Valley Holbrook, Winslow, the Grand Canyon, the White Mountains and Navajo and Hopi nations. A Red Flag Warning is issued when strong winds and low humidites are forecast. Winds are expected to be 15-to-25 miles per hour, with gusts up to 45 miles per hour at times. Humidities are expected to be as low as seven percent. It means if a fire starts, it won’t take long until it’s a full-blown wildfire. If you’re traveling, make sure you have chains up off the highway if you are pulling a trailer, and do not throw cigarettes out of your vehicle’s window.
