Prescott Woman Arrested For Hit-And-Run After Hitting A Police Vehicle Thursday

A Prescott woman was arrested last week after hitting a police vehicle and almost hitting an officer. Prescott Police say that at around 9:10 p.m. Thursday an officer was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 89 near the Watson Lake lookout parking lot. The officer got out of his vehicle, making contact with the driver. As he went back to his vehicle, another vehicle heading northbound hit the police vehicle on the driver’s side, causing significant damage. That vehicle then almost hit the officer while driving away, heading north on Highway 89 toward Chino Valley. Police were able to trace the license plate to a Prescott home. A short time after arriving at the home, the suspect did as well. Her vehicle had damage to her vehicle that was consistent with the evidence left at the scene. The driver was identified as Vanessa Sim of Prescott. Police say she showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. She was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on aggravated assault, endangerment, criminal damage, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
