Prescott Valley Sex Offender Caught With A 13-Year-Old Girl After Talking Online

A registered sex offender from Prescott Valley is in jail after he was caught with a 13-year-old girl. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies went to the home of 26-year-old Paul Jenkins to check for a runaway teen. Jenkins answered the door and let deputies check the house. The girl was found hiding in a closet. During the investigation it was learned the teenager set up a online account on a service called “Skout,” using a fake name and photo while also providing false information. Her online description indicated she was 21 years old. Jenkins contacted her and agreed to meet in a Prescott Valley parking lot and gave her a ride to his home. The two had sex before deputies arrived. Jenkins told deputies he only found out she was underage when deputies told him. He has been arrested on several charges related to the incident and having numerous online accounts that he didn’t disclose. He is being held without bond. Sheriff’s officials remind parents the importance of checking your kids’ phones, computers and other means of electronic communications for concerning activity on social media.
