The Prescott Valley Police Department’s K-9 Unit had a busy Thursday night after stopping a vehicle for traffic violations. Just before midnight, Prescott Valley Police Officers stopped a 2002 Jaguar for multiple traffic violations at State Route 69 and Fain Road. Both the driver and the passenger were behaving oddly, so the K-9 Unit was called in. Officer Ellison and K-9 Kato responded to the scene, where Kato positively alerted officers of drugs in the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding over five pounds of methamphetamine, nearly $2-thousand in cash, and a .22 caliber rifle. One of the occupants of the vehicle was a prohibited possessor. Officers arrested and booked 68-year-old Sharon Hartnett and 52-year-old John Masters, both of Paulden.
