The Prescott Valley Police Department is reminding residents to be on alert for vehicle burglaries and porch pirates. Many communities and residents are combatting residential crime through the Virtual Block Watch Program, which allows residents to register their security cameras with the Prescott Valley Police Department. If a crime is committed and captured on a resident’s camera, police will contact the homeowner and ask them to review the footage. Police do not have access to the footage unless granted permission by the homeowner, therefore, there is no invasion of privacy. To register your security camera, go to PrescottValley-AZ.Gov, click on Town Services and complete the online form under the Police Services/Block Watch tab.
