The Prescott Valley Police Department will be hosting multiple car seat safety check opportunities over the next few weeks. Properly buckling in and using the appropriate-sized car seat can significantly reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries. Car seats reduce the risk of injury by 71 to 82-percent for children, booster seats reduce the risk by 45-percent for children ages 4-8, and seat belts reduce the risk by 50-percent for older children and adults. The car seat checks will be in the parking lot in front of Papa Murphy’s on Glassford Hill Road in Prescott Valley from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The car seat safety checks will be held on July 23rd, August 2nd, August 20th, September 3rd, and September 17th. For more information, contact Amy Stone at (928)-772-5162.
