Isaiah Johnson hit a highly-contested shot with 0.4 left, as Portland State beat NAU, 88-87, in a wild game in the Skydome Saturday. NAU took the lead with 0.4 left after Liam Lloyd hit a three to put the Lumberjacks up one, before Johnson’s incredible shot at the end. It’s the second time this year Johnson has hit a game winner at the buzzer against NAU. The game also featured an incredible buzzer-beater to end the first half by Jalen Cone of NAU. Guard Xavier Fuller led the Jacks with 18 points and seven rebounds. Carson Towt added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Nik Mains chipped in with 15 points in the loss. It’s the eighth straight loss by NAU, by five points or less for a total of 20 points. The Lumberjacks will now hit the road for three straight, starting Thursday night at Big Sky-leading Eastern Washington. Tip time is at 7 p.m.
