Phoenix Man Arrested After Breaking Into A Prescott Home Wednesday Morning

A Phoenix man was arrested this morning inside a Prescott home. Prescott Police were called to a home in the 500 block of Glenwood Avenue at around 6:43 a.m. on a report of a possible burglary in progress. The homeowner had called police after they saw the man enter the home on their security camera. No one was in the house at the time. When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter. They found a door to the basement unsecured. Officers went into the baseman and found the suspect inside. The suspect, 36-year-old Stephen Diel from Phoenix, was taken into custody without incident. Diel told officers he had previously did some work at the home and had entered in an attempt to stay warm. He was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of burglary and on a felony warrant out of Maricopa County for failure to appear on an aggravated DUI charge.
