A Parks man was killed in an accident on Interstate-40 Thursday afternoon. DPS officials say 74-year-old Robert Rike was driving westbound on the highway in Bellemont, when the green 1969 Toyota he was driving was rear-ended by a 1993 Peterbuilt commercial vehicle. The collision caused the vehicle to roll. Rike was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced him dead on the scene. The truck driver was not injured. The accident is under investigation.
