In the span of a few weeks, Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking have been attempting to gather information on a possible drug dealer in Cottonwood. After gathering enough evidence, a search warrant was obtained to search the residence of 23-year-old Cottonwood resident, Evan Blackwood. Detectives arrived to Blackwood’s home and found his brother, 18-year-old Michael Smith with a handgun and a few fentanyl pills. Further search resulted in the finding of multiple guns with loaded magazines, two fentanyl pills, 21 ounces of liquid codeine, 24 morphine capsules, nearly ten pounds of marijuana products, four tabs of LSD, a little over ten grams of cocaine, three suboxone strips, four hydrocodone pills, a pill press, scaled, packaging material, used paraphernalia, and over 35-hundred dollars in cash. Both Blackwood and Smith have been taken into custody and charged with multiple drug and weapon offenses.
