A man was killed by a westbound freight train Wednesday night in Flagstaff. Flagstaff Police say the accident happened around 200-feet northeast of the intersection of North Fanning Drive and East Route 66 at around 6:32 p.m. When officers arrived they provided medical care until a medical crew arrived, but he was pronounced dead. The man has been identified as 37-year-old Cecil Begay of Flagstaff. The train was held at the intersection until around 8:30 p.m. The incident remains under investigation. Police reminds everyone that It’s unlawful and unsafe for pedestrians to be on railroad tracks, unless at a crossing and utilizing it safety.
