One person was killed when she pointed a gun at Prescott Police officers Sunday afternoon. Officers were called to an area of the 800 block of Second Street in Prescott at around 5 p.m. on a report of hearing several gun shots. When officers arrived they were directed to a specific house by those who reported hearing the gun shots. When officers approached the house, they saw an adult female leave the home with a firearm. She then pointed it at the officers, in which two officers fired their weapon, hitting the suspect. The woman was treated at the scene by the officers and by members of the Prescott Fire Department. She was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The suspect later passed away from those injuries. The case has been turned over to the Department of Public Safety Major Incidents Division.
