Federal investigators are looking into a plane crash Wednesday evening near Page, that killed the pilot and injured a passenger. Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Paria Plateau area west of Page at around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a call of a plane crashed while on approach to the Page Airport. The plane originated from San Martin, California. When deputies arrived they found the two people who were on the plane. The pilot has been identified as Jim Peterson, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Uta, was injured in the crash and was flown to a St. George, Utah Hospital. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.
