Northern Arizona Wranglers defensive coordinator David Moran passed away Monday after he suffered a severe heart attack prior to the Wranglers game Saturday night at Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. Moran suffered the heart attack in the hallway of the arena two hours before kickoff. Team owner Fred DePalma released a statement saying say a quick response by a concessions employee and a ticket taker, who happened to be a retired fireman, immediately started CPR on Moran while waiting for paramedics. Moran was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery Sunday. Moran graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High School and played quarterback for the Bears. He later came back to coach at his old high school and spent three seasons in Flagstaff coaching at Sinagua High School. He played college football at Oregon State and later at NAU before turning to coaching.
