The New Year’s Eve winter storm dumped inches of snow across Northern and Eastern Arizona. The big winner was Pinetop-Lakeside with just over 14 inches of snow. Show Low had a foot of snow and St. Johns had six-to-eight inches of snow from the storm. In St. Johns, police closed off a major street in the town so kids could go sledding Tuesday. In Northern Arizona, Munds Park had nine inches of snow, seven inches fell in Holbrook and Joseph City and the Prescott Courthouse saw six-and-a-half inches of snow. Other snowfall amounts had Arizona Snowbowl receiving eight inches of snow, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon got six inches of snow and areas of Flagstaff picked up between three and six inches of snow with areas of heavier snow. Another storm system is expected to bring more snow to Northern Arizona this weekend.
