A New Mexico man will be spending the rest of his live in prison for committing crimes against a child over a ten year stretch. Navajo County Sheriff’s officials say 56-year-old Rick Pogue, from Arenas Valley, New Mexico, was found guilty back in February on seven counts of sexual conduct with a minor and seven counts of kidnapping. The crimes took place between 2001 and 2011 in the area of Winslow and Joseph City. A victim came forward and reported the crimes to the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office in 2017. Sentencing was held Tuesday. Pogue was sentenced to life in prison for each count of sexual conduct, without the possibility of parole until after he serves the first 35 years. He will be 91 years old by then. Authorities encourage all victims of sexual assault, whether delayed or recent, to report it to any law enforcement agency.
