Navajo County Sheriff’s Deputies Netted Nearly Five-Million Dollars In Illegal Drugs During Two Stops Wednesday

Navajo County Sheriff’s deputies had a great day Wednesday, when it comes to getting illegal drugs off our streets. In two traffic stops, one near Holbrook, the other in Winslow, deputies seized nearly five-million dollars in illegal drugs. In the first stop, deputies pulled over a vehicle at around 8:25 a.m. near Sun Valley, near Holbrook, on eastbound Interstate-40. During the stop, the deputy became suspicious, so K-9 “Kilo” was sent in to sniff the vehicle. Kilo alerted the deputy and the vehicle was searched. The deputy found over 124 pounds of meth, nearly a gram of ecstasy and a firearm. Street value of the drugs was just shy of three-million dollars. Authorities arrested 55-year-old Henry Paxton of Florida, and booked him into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook on numerous drug charges and a weapons offense. Then hours later, the Navajo County Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-40 in Winslow for traffic violations. After an investigation, authorities found nearly 78-thousand fentanyl pills, estimated to be close to two-million-dollars. Arrested was 53-year-old Alejandro Garcia Gonzalez of California on numerous drug charges. Officials say the two arrests were not connected.
