The NAU men’s track and field team sent three distance runners to the 2022 NCAA National Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend. In Friday’s Men’s Indoor 5,000-meter run, sophomore Abdihamid Nur, freshman Drew Bosley and freshman Nico Young were trying announce NAU’s presence with authority at the meet, and that they did. Nur not only won the race and is the national champion in the event, he set a new meet record in the process at 13:19.01. Young finished third with a time of 13:21.23, which was also faster than the meet record. Bosely finished the race in eighth place. The men’s 3,000-meters is Saturday at 4 p.m. Nur will try to win another national title. He will be joined by Nico Young. You can watch the race on ESPN-Plus.
