The NAU Lumberjack men’s basketball team got off to a great start Saturday night, leading by 15 in the first half, and held on to beat Idaho State in Pocotello, Idaho, 81-69, to go 2-2 in the Big Sky Conference. NAU had five players in double-figures with Luke Avdalovic leading the Jacks with 17 points. Ted McCree added 16 and Carlos Hines chipped in with 14 points. The Jacks shot 56-percent from the field and 50-percent from three-point range. NAU was also nearly perfect from the free-throw line hitting 19-of-20. NAU will have a few days between games and will return to the court next Saturday night in Cedar City, Utah against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. Tip time is at 2 p.m.
