The NAU men’s and women’s tennis teams are both bringing conference titles back to Flagstaff as they swept Big Sky Tennis Championships Sunday in Phoenix. The NAU men’s team started the day with a 4-0 blanking of the Idaho State Bengals, winning their second straight Big Sky title after not winning one for 40 years. NAU got the doubles point after winning two of three doubles matches. Then NAU swept the singles points to get the win. The NAU women’s team was up next and they knocked off the Weber State Wildcats 4-2, to win their second straight Big Sky title. The Wildcats won the doubles point, but NAU won four of five singles matches to win the title. NAU’s Madi Moore lost the first set 6-4, but rallied to win 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the title. The men will head to Austin, Texas and will take on the fourth-seeded Texas Longhorns Saturday at 10 a.m. The NAU women’s team will head to Malibu, California to take on the fifth-seeded Pepperdine Waves Friday at 2 p.m.
