Northern Arizona University is making mask-wearing on campus optional starting Monday. NAU released a statement Thursday saying due to new adjustments to community levels, NAU campuses in Low or Medium COVID levels can go to optional masking, with the exception when riding NAU buses, at the NAU Fieldhouse testing and vaccination site, or at Campus Health Services and other clinical health care settings, where masking will still be mandatory. NAU says based on updated protocols, people may choose to mask at any time to their comfort level. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19, should still wear a mask. NAU will work closely with people who need accommodations due to personal health concerns.
