NAU Falls To Eastern Washington In Dome Opener Saturday

The NAU men’s basketball team opened up it’s 2022 Skydome season Saturday, hosting the Eastern Washington Eagles. The Jacks started out strong, thanks to sharpshooting efforts from Jalen Cone and Keith Haymon, but the Eagles battled back to beat NAU, 78-65. Haymon led the Jacks with 19 points, while Cone had 18 points and Nik Mains had 16 in the loss. All three each had four-3’s for NAU. Lincoln Acleise led the Eagles with 30 points and 11 rebounds. The Eagles dominated in the paint, outscoring NAU 46-14. Eastern Washington improves to 2-1 in the Big Sky, while NAU falls to 1-2. The Jacks will host the Embry Riddle Eagles from Prescott Wednesday night before returning to Big Sky play for the rest of the year next Saturday at Southern Utah. Wednesday’s game will be played at the Rolle Activity Center. Tip time is at 6 p.m.
