NAU Falls To Arizona In Football Season Opener, 38-3

The NAU Lumberjacks began their season with a tough loss in Tucson, 38-3, to the Arizona Wildcats Saturday night. The Jacks held their own in the first half, trailing the Wildcats 14-3 at halftime. A 21-point third quarter, which included an 85-yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown was the beginning of the end for NAU. Lumberjacks quarterback Kai Milner was 14-of-22 for 166 yards and wide receiver Coleman Owen had five catches for 90 yards. Arizona quarterback Jayden DeLaura led the Cats with 285 yards passing with three touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in the win. NAU will be back on the road next Saturday to take on the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
