Northern Arizona University has canceled classes for Wednesday on the Mountain Campus after recent winter storms left about 30 inches of snow in and around Flagstaff. NAU officials say the reason for the cancellation was to allow campus, city and county staff to manage the effects from the storms and to encourage safe travel for students coming back to Flagstaff. NAU also says employees in designated essential service roles are expected to report to work however. Also on-campus employees in Flagstaff will have a delayed start to the day and will have to report to work at noon. NAU’s facilities crews are working hard to clear snow and help ensure campus is safe. The delayed opening will enable further opportunity for snow clearing on campus.
