NAU Basketball Season Approaches With Fans At Rolle Not In The Cards

The NAU basketball season is quickly approaching, with the first games on the road Wednesday, November 25th. The men’s team will head to Tucson to take on the Arizona Wildcats, while the NAU women will go to Las Vegas to play UNLV. Both teams’ home will be at the Rolle Activity Center this season. NAU Athletic Director Mike Marlow joined Peter and Dave Thursday on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 and he says due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the chance fans will be able to attend basketball games this season is unlikely. Marlow said: “we don’t see Rolle working for fans initially.” He adds, “we have operational requirements from the Big Sky and the NCAA for not just the visiting team but for game officials, so I don’t see it (fans) in Rolle.” Football season for NAU will start February 27th in the Skydome against the Montana Grizzlies. Marlow says they are still hopeful to have fans come to the Skydome for football games, with social distancing and proper guidelines in place, but it’s still too early to tell. All NAU men’s basketball games and NAU football games can be heard on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930.
