Northern Arizona University announces new program, starting in the fall, that would provide full tuition coverage for Arizona resident undergraduate students with a household income of under $65-thousand a year. The program is called Access2Excellence and NAU President Jose Luis Cruz Rivera says investing in a program like this will “increase the number of Arizona resident students participating in higher education, especially from underserved and rural communities.” NAU seeks a three-percent tuition increase for the 2023-24 academic year. The school is also proposing a five year tuition increase of three-and-a-half percent for undergrads, a five-percent increase for graduate students and academic fees, a seven-percent increase in housing and eight-percent increase in meal plans from the Fall of 2024 to Fall of 2029. The new program and the increases still have to be approved by the Arizona Board of Regents, which will meet March 28th.
