NAU announced Wednesday a six-game series, in football, with Dixie State University starting in 2023. The Lumberjacks and Trailblazers will start play in Flagstaff, then will alternate each year through 2028. Dixie State is a short drive from Flagstaff, as they are located in St. George, Utah about 250 miles away. Dixie State is making the move to Division One football in June of 2020 as a member of the Western Athletic Conference. NAU and Dixie State met one previous time in the school’s history. NAU beat the Trailblazers, 66-14 in 2006 in Flagstaff.
