The National Association of Letter Carriers is hosting a food drive across the nation now through Friday. The “Stamp Out Hunger” event is the largest food drive of the year for the Flagstaff Family Food Center and brings an average of 40-thousand pounds of food every year. Local letter carriers will be dropping donation bags at residential mailboxes throughout the week to be filled with non-perishable food items. Once filled, letter carriers will come back to collect the bags and take them to the Post Office for sorting and distributing. The Flagstaff Family Food Center is asking for volunteers to help with sorting and distributing on Saturday. If you are interested in volunteering, head to HotFood.VolunteerHub.com. Residents that are participating in the donation must have the donated items at their mailbox on or before Friday.
