Museum Fire Inches Closer To Full Containment

The Museum Fire is still not 100-percent contained, but it’s getting closer. Coconino National Forest officials say the fire is now 93-percent contained with 1,961 acres burned. The acreage isn’t expected to climb as only a few hot spots remain on the fire. The threat continues to be flooding from the Museum Fire. Water gauges ranged from over a quarter to a third of inch of rain in ten minutes. Some flows topped Larkspur Lane at the culvert with four inches of water. Burned Area Emergency Response teams continue to evaluate watershed conditions to determine the level of potential risks of flooding to residents below. There’s no indication when full containment of the fire is expected.
