Crews on the Kaibab National Forest came across multiple abandoned campfires over the weekend. Campfires are prohibited in every national forest in Arizona. Forest officials remind the public of the ban and that early fire restrictions help reduce the number of fire starts and reduce risks to firefighters health through limited exposure. If you are camping in the coming weekends, propane use is fine, but other fires are prohibited and you could be fined if you are caught with an illegal campfire.
