More Prescribed Burns On Tap For Northern Arizona This Week

More prescribed burns are on tap for this week across Northern Arizona. On the Coconino National Forest, work on the Wild Bill Project will begin Monday and last through Tuesday. Nearly four-thousand acres plan to be treated 14 miles northwest of Flagstaff, and about four-and-a-half miles north of Bellemont. Fire managers will try again to burn on the Horseshoe project 11 miles northwest of Flagstaff Wednesday through Friday. Nearly 600 acres are set to burn there. That project will increase protection to the Upper Rio de Flag watershed. Fire managers on the Kaibab National Forest plan to burn starting Wednesday on the Three Sisters project near Kaibab Lake north of Williams. All plans are subject to change due to changes in weather.
