The Mount Elden Middle School student, who attacked another student Monday with a knife, has been kicked off campus and is facing aggravated assault charges. Police were called to the school Monday morning at around 9:30 a.m. on reports of a stabbing at the school. When officers arrived, staff at MEMS had taken the knife away from the attacker and started to treat the victim. The victim has non-life threatening injuries. Classes at MEMS were canceled Tuesday so staff and students could recover mentally from the events at the school. A motive for the attack is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
