Mayer’s Water Availability Is Being Threatened By Monsoon Flooding

The Town of Mayer is issuing a warning about Big Bug Creek, and the possibility storm waters may damage the town’s water availability. Officials say the integrity of the banks of the creek, near the water line, have been threatened by recent rains. The Mayer Water District is working on preventing further damage, but if another significant storm occurs, there is a chance it will take out the main water line, which will impact water availability to residents in Mayer. The town is encouraging residents to prepare by creating and storing emergency water supplies and recommend one gallon per person, per day. Also, remember to have enough water for your pets. For the latest information, check out mayerwaterdistrict.com, or call (928) 632-4113 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until noon with any questions.
