Man’s Wife Arrested After A Domestic Violence Incident Led To Attempted Murder In Prescott

A woman was arrested after a domestic violence incident led to an attempted homicide in Prescott early Wednesday morning. Prescott Police were called to a home in the 200 block of Thoroughbred Drive on a report of a shooting that took place at the house. When police arrived they found 80-year-old John Pasqualetto was shot in his wrist. He was treated at the scene and eventually flown to a Phoenix area hospital for treatment. The investigation showed that John and his wife, 62-year-old Christina Pasqualette, were in the middle of a divorce and had been separated for several months. The suspect, Christina, was living in the couple’s home in Gilbert while John lived in their Prescott home. John had reportedly changed the locks at the Prescott home, but reported that keys, along with other items, had gone missing and suspected his wife of taking them. Police say Christina told them she didn’t want to get divorced and drove from Gilbert to Prescott. She says when she arrived, John was in bed. She came into the bedroom where a verbal argument ensued about the divorce. When John told her he wanted the divorce, she pulled out a handgun and shot him while he was still in bed. John was able to knock the gun from Christina’s hands and tried to leave the house. As he did, he struck Christina with his hands and elbows to get out of the situation and call 9-1-1. John also told officers that Christina had stolen checks and forged a check about a week prior for $10-thousand and cashed it. Christina admitted to the crime. She was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, forgery and theft.
